For some time I have been researching eBay auction watching programs from the seller’s perspective, but hadn’t found anything that met all the requirements at a reasonable price. After much researching I found eBay Auction Watcher. Reading the sales material gave me high expectations, despite the modest price tag.

Unlike some of the products that I researched, eBay Auction Watcher has a professional installer, which was an encouraging start. The program was easy to install and loaded reasonably quickly on my four year old computer, although it is better to be connected to the Internet before loading this tool.

Going against my natural instincts, I read the instructions before using eBay Auction Watcher. These were less helpful than I would have liked, but there is free technical support. I found using the program to be the best way of exploring its many features. it took me a while to appreciate eBay Auction Watcher’s benefits, such as:

• the ability to list the top 100 search terms ranked in order;
• being able to track multiple auctions in real time;
• search against misspelled words;
• find popular search terms;
• find the most popular primary keywords and their secondary keywords, and to
• assess how many bids on average you could expect against your chosen keywords.

A particularly useful feature is the ability to export your search results and to import previously saved search criteria.

To my taste, I found the layout cluttered, some buttons were inconveniently placed and there were some distractions. I preferred the “restore down” view. The data boxes and occasional lack of information gave the impression that eBay Auction Watcher has scope for further development – all suggestions are welcomed.

eBay Auction Watchercan be used with eBay in Australia, Canada, UK and USA, but it can only be used with the USA and one other country of your choice selected at run time, for example USA and Canada. A further restriction is that eBay Auction Watcher can only be used for one country at a time, such as UK or USA. However, these are minor criticisms and for most people they will not detract from its utility. 

Who is it for?

eBay Auction Watcheris an indispensible tool if you are serious about making your eBay business a success – whatever stage it is at. It is of less value to the occasional seller.

What will you get from using eBay Auction Watcher?

eBay Auction Watcher will help you to:

• identify products that are being sought out by buyers;
• identify your niche market;
• identify the keywords most appropriate to the product you are selling;
• ascertain how many bids on average you might expect to receive based on your chosen keywords; and
• monitor your auctions in real time.

Of all its benefits, it is ebay Auction Watcher’s ability to help find an unsatisfied or under serviced market that impressed me the most.

There is not an auction sniper with ebay Auction Watcher but none is needed as the product is for sellers not buyers.

What you will need to use eBay Auction Watcher

A fast Internet connection is essential. Given the paucity of the user instructions, a bit of patience is also required. An hour or so spent familiarising yourself with eBay auction Watcher will be well rewarded and will enable you to make your eBay selling much easier and more profitable.

I recommend eBay Action Watcher as an indispensible tool for every serious ebay seller.

OK, so ‘ProfitCalc’ may have a few bells and whistles but eBay publish their costs, right? So what, I wondered, is the utility of a product that tells me what I thought already knew?

‘ProfitCalc’ is comprehensive and easy to use and can calculate your profit on ebay.com, ebay.uk, ebay.ca and ebay.au.

By focussing on eBay’s charges and paying insufficient attention to all the other associated costs, some of which are not obvious, many eBay sellers unknowingly sell at a loss. ‘ProfitCalc’ won’t stop you doing that if you choose to sell at below the real cost, but you will know how much you lost and why.

Who is it for?

‘ProfitCalc’ is not for you if already know all of the costs that may be incurred in selling an item on eBay and you are a wizard at setting up spreadsheets and formulae and have the time to do it.

‘ProfitCalc’ is not really aimed at eBay store keepers, but you can modify the formulae to show the charges applicable to eBay stores.

For all other eBay sellers ‘ProfitCalc’ is a must have utility.

What you will gain using from ‘ProfitCalc’

Being a spreadsheet template, ‘ProfitCalc’s strength lies in its ability to let you test different starting bids and pricing/shipping models to give you the lowest cost of sale without losing revenue. Because all of the costs associated with selling on eBay are included, you will be able see your real profit.

Should you buy it?

The only people for whom purchasing ‘ProfitCalc’ is not a necessity are eBay Store keepers and those sellers who have the inclination, skill, knowledge and time to create their own calculator. For every other eBay seller I recommend it as a must have utility.

Product name: Diabetes Symptoms Guide

Author: Gary Sanders

Gary Sanders is diabetic. He makes the bold claim that his e-book is the best resource on the Internet to expose, explore, and manage diabetes; and that any questions or concern you have ever had will finally be answered. Mr Sanders says that after almost 10 years of continuing education in diabetes he is an expert on Type I, Type II, and gestational diabetes. This offered the prospect of a highly informative book written from the unique perspective of a sufferer.

From his claims of expertise I was expecting an erudite text. What Mr. Sanders presents is a clear, well written but elementary description of the different forms of diabetes and their symptoms. The chapter on preventing and managing diabetes by changing your diet is equally basic. The strength of this work is that it provides a quick overview of the subject whilst directing the reader to seek expert medical attention where appropriate. Despite the typographical error, Mr. Sanders does not intend his book to be a self-diagnosis tool.

The book is sub-titled “Your complete guide to exposing, exploring, and managing diabetes” which is an exaggeration, while its title “Diabetes Symptoms Guide” is accurate.

At only 28 pages long including the title page and written in a large typeface in double line spacing this book will appeal to those who are looking for a short, easy to read guide to the symptoms of diabetes.  

Despite its brevity, the book would have benefited from having the pages numbered and a cross referenced table of contents.

To his credit, Mr. Sanders also includes a recipe book containing 500 recipes suitable for diabetics. In contrast to the book, the index of recipes is hyperlinked to the relevant recipe for easy navigation.

All the recipes use US weights and measures as well as temperature settings in degrees Fahrenheit whereas virtually the whole of the rest of the English speaking world as well as Europe use kilograms, litres and the Celsius temperature scale. A recipe book being sold on the World Wide Web ought to use both systems of measurement. 

Notwithstanding the lack of metric weights and measures, the inclusion of the recipes transforms the book into a genuinely useful product offering good value for money that I can recommend.

Review of “The Diabetes Miracle Breakthrough”

I have to confess that my first impression on seeing a brief description of Mark Anastasi’s e-book was that here is another passing fad targeted at vulnerable people. Having someone very close to me who is in the pre-diabetes stage was enough to cause me to investigate further whilst remaining sceptical. I bought Mark Anastasi’s e-book, which comes with a money back guarantee. So, if my initial scepticism was justified I could get my money back. But I won’t be asking for a refund! This is not some passing fad.

Based on up-to-date scientific thinking and research and some not so new but proven methods, Anastasi brings a fresh insight to how we perceive and treat diabetes.

Traditionally, diabetes has been viewed as a disease that has to be treated by taking insulin shots. Anastasi asserts that diabetes is not a disease but a symptom – a symptom of a pancreas that is so damaged it cannot produce the insulin your body needs. More than that, the root cause of diabetes in the ‘Western’ World is our modern diet and lifestyle.

The good news is that you can do something about it. For those people with diabetes willing to change their diet and to make some simple lifestyle changes Anastasi describes a safe, natural and holistic way for your body to produce more insulin.

Diabetes is the product of diet and lifestyle, according to research quoted by Anastasi. We are, he says, literally digging our graves with our teeth! By which he means that our modern diet is so deficient in nutrients that our bodies are not getting enough of the vital vitamins and minerals we need to stay healthy. Moreover, much of the food we eat today has been processed and contains substantial amounts of salt, sugar and saturated fats.

He advocates food combining as the appropriate diet for diabetes sufferers as well as avoiding dairy products. Drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco products are also to be avoided.

I said above that Anastasi promotes a holistic approach to the subject. An important element of which is our mental state. We become what we think. That may seem a bit metaphysical, but such ideas have been in the mainstream for 50 years.

The central message of this e-book is start thinking “health” and treating the cause of diabetes.

Anastasi challenges many of our deeply held cultural and culinary beliefs and traditions. Some people may find this hard to accept. This e-book is not for you if you are unwilling to adopt a healthy diet based on the principles of food combining and to make the small but necessary adjustments to your lifestyle.
